Built in 1932 over one of the Mojave River’s rare wet stretches, it was designed at an angle, which gives it that unusual look and makes it stand out from more ordinary bridges. For anyone who has driven toward Helendale and passed this landmark, it’s pretty incredible to realize you’re looking at one of the most unique surviving pieces of California Route 66 history.
