💡 Did You Know?
One of the Best Ways to Smooth Out Your Home Search Starts Before the ShowingsKnowing your buying power early can make the home search feel more focused, more confident, and a whole lot less stressful. 🏡✨
Getting clear on your buying power early can help make your home search smoother from day one.
One of the best ways to make your home search smoother is starting with a clear understanding of your buying power. When you already know where you stand, it becomes much easier to focus on homes that truly fit your goals instead of wasting time on properties that may not make sense financially. It also sends a strong message to sellers that you are serious, prepared, and ready to move when the right home comes along. In a competitive market, that can make a real difference. If you are getting ready to start house hunting, having this step checked off ahead of time can make the entire process feel a lot more confident and a lot less stressful. A little preparation up front can go a long way.

🏛️ Hometown HistoryColton Edition
Here’s a Colton fact many locals may have never heard: one of the city’s railroad disputes got so intense in 1883 that Virgil Earp and California’s governor were both involved. Colton had already become an important railroad crossroads, and a fight over which line had the right to cross the other turned into what railroad history calls a “frog war” — a battle over a track crossing. According to local railroad history, Virgil Earp was there guarding the Southern Pacific side while Governor Robert Waterman came in person to help enforce the court order. The crossing was finally installed without bloodshed, but the episode helped cement Colton’s reputation as a true transportation hub — which makes the nickname “Hub City” feel a whole lot more interesting. Quick takeaway: Colton’s railroad history was dramatic enough to bring both Virgil Earp and a California governor to the same standoff. Question: Had you ever heard about Colton’s railroad “frog war” before? Sources: City of Colton / North County Model Railroad Society. |
