Here’s a Hesperia-area story that sounds made up (but isn’t): up in Summit Valley near Cajon Pass, a retired Los Angeles funeral streetcar nicknamed “Descanso” was converted into a tiny cabin — and for years, it was actually someone’s home.

From the 1950s into the 1960s, a local mailman/telegraph operator reportedly lived in that converted railcar. A one-of-a-kind piece of SoCal transit history… hiding in plain sight right here in our High Desert backyard. 🚋🏔️
